Where are you located?

The shop is located at 2621 West College Street in the plaza directly across the street from the Gallatin Valley Mall’s Theater. Our store front faces the back of the First Interstate Bank, Mountain Hot Tub, CafĂ© Zydeco and the Paint Factory. A yellow FLY SHOP sign is located on West College where you turn in to get to the shop. Access from Main Street is at the ROOKS game shop.

Do you carry equipment for kids?

Yes. We carry Dan Bailey and Redington waders for kids. We also carry the Redington Crosswater Youth boots made especially for kiddos. Our fly rod selection includes the TFO Bug Launcher and the Redington Minnow rod/reel combinations. These kits come with a rod, reel, backing, fly line and a protective case. The rods feature a smaller grip to make it easier for kids to hold and cast the rods.

Do you offer fly tying and fly fishing classes?

Yes, we offer a free 2-hour introduction to fly tying class that includes a tour through the fly shop to learn about some of the materials and equipment used to tie flies. We also tie a few basic patterns to give the participants a chance to work with the tools, materials, and learn techniques. Students leave with a good foundation for fly tying and a few flies they tied – ready to fish! We also offer inexpensive intermediate fly tying classes that specialize in more advanced techniques including articulated streamers or parachute dry flies.

Our fly fishing classes focus on basic and intermediate classes as well as specialty classes like Lake Fishing, Advanced Rigging, Streamer Fishing, Competition Nymph Fishing, and Dry Fly Fishing. Please contact the shop for more information regarding these classes.

Do you have an Online Store?

Not at the present time. We do however, sell and ship items to folks on a regular basis. If you’d like to purchase something but are located outside the area, please contact the shop.
